The Republic of Trinidad & Tobago is the southernmost Caribbean islands. Trinidad and Tobago are the tow larger islands. However they are surrounded by many smaller islands. Trinidad the larger island is 1,841 sq mile. in size while Tobago is only 120 sq miles.

Trinidad Carnival

Trinidad's Caribbean Carnival is in February every year and is the biggest of all Carnival's in the Caribbean. Being the birth place of Soca Music, Steel Pan, Chutney Music etc, it should come as a surprise.  Trinbago is where majority of Soca artist's are from. Some who were not born here have lived for a while.  One such Soca Artist is Ricardo Drue.  

Trinidad's Festival is also where the mother of Soca Monarch competition is held.  Soca Music artist from thru out the West Indies fly down for a chance to be Soca Monarch King/Queen.  Other unique events  not held any where else would be the Stick Fighting competition, Machel Monday, DJ Private Ryan's Soca Brainwash etc.

Besides this mega competition, naturally there are numerous other Soca fetes to attend. (Visit Trinidad and Tobago Caribbean Carnival for activities).  But just like all Carnival in the Caribbean islands, Jouvert and the Carnival Costume Parade are the most looked forward to events. In fact, some feters may travel just to attend these two Soca parties.

Kes The Band was formed in 2005 and is made up of a group of very talented individuals. Brothers Kees Dieffenthaller (lead vocals), Hans Dieffenthaller (drums), and Jon Dieffenthaller (guitar), along with long-time friend Riad Boochoon (bass guitar), Ricardo Rameshar (keyboards), Mario Callender (also keyboards) and Robert Persaud (DJ & samples).  They fuse Soca, Calypso, Raggae and Pop to bring not only a melting pot of Caribbean music, but a pot from around the world as well.

Whenever they are performing, you can expect lots of energy. This high energy and style of music is responsible for them traveling all around the world to cities like China, UK, USA, Canada, Belgium and of course many other Caribbean islands performing alongside other international artist such as Will Smith, Sean Paul, Barrington Levy etc. They have opened for Usher, Maroon 5, Buju Banton just to name a few.
