What is Jouvert

Jouvert is a Caribbean Soca party that is held mainly out doors. The reason for out doors is because it usually involves paint, powder, water, mud and in Grenada car oil. White clothing is usually worn so that before and after pictures can be taken.

Jouvert is usually held as a part of Carnival in the Caribbean islands or wherever has a big Caribbean community with an annual Caribbean Carnival season.

Ladies usually take precaution by covering their hair and wearing bath suits since its very likely to get wet. 

Men wear swim trunks or old shorts and old t-shirts which usually is taken off before the end of the party. 

Jouvert is (pronounce Juva) also spelled J'ouvert. However in the Soca Music community, we use Jouvert.
